Family, the closet, and relationships — the questions that never went away
Some questions don't disappear, even as public discourse moves forward. They resurface in living rooms, in family group chats, in couples' late-night conversations — and sometimes precisely with people who look most 'sorted' from the outside.
One of them concerns families in which a spouse comes out after years of shared life. It happens in every sector, at every age, at every level of declared openness. The story is almost always told from one vantage point — the person coming out. But around them is a whole circle: the partner, the children, the parents, the mutual friends. Each has legitimate questions, and rarely a place to ask them without feeling 'politically incorrect'.
